Daily - THEME SHOW - "Birds of a Feather"
Alone Moose Fine Crafts, 78 West Street, Bar Harbor
The 31st annual theme show at the island's oldest "Made in Maine" gallery featuring birds in bronze, wood, watercolor, acrylic, wood engraving, clay, silver and fiber. Don't miss the bird window when walking after hours until July 15. Open Monday-Saturday. For information call 288-4229.

Daily EXHIBIT - Paintings by Ann Mill
Art and Soul Gallery, 112 Main Street, Bar Harbor
Come by and view "Island Pastures," a new collection of original paintings by local artist Ann Mill. For information call 288-8338.

Daily DEMONSTRATIONS - Bar Harbor Vacation Ornament or Plaque
Christmas Spirit Shop, 80 Main Street, Bar Harbor
Brief demonstrations of how we custom make and personalize your family's own Bar Harbor vacation ornament or wall plaque. Designs include touring Acadia National Park, hiking its trails, biking its roads, kayaking it shores, viewing its lighthouses, watching its whales, RVing or camping its campgrounds and enjoying its lobsters. Daily EXHIBIT - Quilt Display
Jesup Memorial Library, 34 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor
View the display of quilts made by local quilters as part of MDI Hospital's Healing Hands for Alzheimer's effort. These quilts will be on display from June 20 through July 1. For information call 288-4245.

Daily EXHIBIT - Paintings by Lucy Tracy
Criterion Theatre, 34 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor.
Jesup Memorial Library, 34 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor.
Come by and enjoy the paintings of local artist Lucy Tracy. Ms. Tracy's artwork will be on display for the month of June. For information call 288-4245.

Daily - NEW SHOW OF WORKS - Paintings & Graphics by Russell D'Alessio
Pretty Marsh Gallery, in the court, behind Testa's Restaurant, Main Street; behind Jeannie's Chowder House, Cottage Street, Bar Harbor

Art will be on display throughout Legacy week in traditional, as well as non-traditional, locations in the community: lodging establishments, museums, galleries, offices, banks, retail shops and restaurants. Keep an eye out for something truly unique!

FATHER'S DAY CELEBRATION



With family and friends, enjoy the island and the sea on Father's Day. Take Dad to a movie, dinner, boating or shopping. Help kick off the festival with the first concert of the week.

Criterion Theatre, 35 Cottage Street, Bar Harbor
Since 1932, the Art Deco style Criterion Theatre has provided the island the best in live and motion picture entertainment. View the sharply angled walls, large flying balcony, and proscenium arch and huge chandelier, which are a part of one of the island's treasures, complete with stories and view of non-public areas. 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm - MUSIC ON THE PATIO - Jazz
Rupununi's Restaurant, 119 Main Street, Bar Harbor.
Join us for jazz on the patio, and enjoy Bar Harbor's street scene. Then, stroll over to the nearby Village Green for the evening's concert. For information call 288-2886.

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm - FATHER'S DAY CONCERT - Silverado Special
The Village Green, Bar Harbor
Silverado Special is a sterling group from Swans Island. Though only performing together for the past two years, they've entertained and supported the inhabitants of Swans island and have generously given a portion of their earnings to support island causes, such as the restoration of the Swans Island Lighthouse. Currently the band seeks larger opportunities and has pland to be heard. During the concert, help us honor the Legacy of the Arts Festival 2006 Arts Award recipient, George Demas.

SHUSH is Sheila Hoshang Unvala on fiddle, and Sepp Huber on guitar. Playing their own arrangements of fiddle tunes, waltzes and traditional and contemporary songs, they'll treat you to soulful vocals and harmony singing with tunes that are lively, fun and beautiful. Enjoy traditional afternoon tea in an historic Victorian Inn, originally home to the family of Christopher Starr Leffingwell, first rector of St. Saviour's Episcopal Church. Come by and enjoy a show of paintings by artists from Bar Harbor's Argosy Gallery. Selected by the Gaylin's staff, paintings on display include works by Pam Ingalls, Kathleen Johnson, Scott Moore, T.M. Nichols, Ron Johnson, Nancy Hill and others. Refreshments will be served. 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm - CONCERT - The Swallowtail Fiddlers
The Village Green, Bar Harbor
The Swallowtail Fiddlers are from the Conners/Emerson School in Bar Harbor under the direction of their music teacher, Rebecca Edmondson. The Swallowtail Fiddlers is a multi-age group, comprised of 3rd - through 8th-grade violinists, a violist and a cellist. They perform toe-tapping jigs, reels, hornpipes and folk tunes plus their signature favorite, The Swallowtail Jig. For information call 288-4467, ext. 230.

8:00 am - 9:30 am - PASTE PAPER WORKSHOP - A Hands-on Class
Alone Moose Fine Crafts, 78 West Street, Bar Harbor
Collectable books often featured paste paper pages or end covers. Today the technique is used for art projects such as art cards or altered books. This class filled up very quickly last festival week. Limited to only six students. The $10 fee includes materials. For registration, call 288-4229.

6:00 pm - 6:30 pm - COMEDY SHOW - Improvisation
ImprovAcadia, Bayside Landing, 15 Cottage Street, 2nd Floor, Bar Harbor
Join us for a free improv comedy show. See the performers of ImprovAcadia create a hilarious show using only your suggestions and their quick wits. ImprovAcadia features a cast of professional improvisers from Chicago. The show is appropriate for all ages, but minors must be accompanied by an adult. For information call 288-2503.

Heidi Jai, Craige Williamson, et al. offer something for everyone with a mix of jazz standards and a few selections from other genres just to mix things up. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the Shore Path, with emphasis on four examples of the design of well known architect, Fred L. Savage. The Abbe Museum, 26 Mt. Desert Street, Bar Harbor.
Drop in and enjoy this gallery discovery activity, based on the amazing portraits by Vermont artist Gerry Biron in the Made of Thunder, Made of Glass: Native American Beadwork in the Northeast exhibition. Mr. Biron's portraits of Native people are based on the historic postcards and other images. Who are these Native people? What kinds of beadwork are they wearing, and can you find it in the exhibition? Drawing, coloring, and creating a cinquain poem are all part of this fun activity for all ages. Bring your teasures to the YWCA MDI. Kaja Veilleux, with his newly outfitted RV, will hold a Maine "Antiques Road Show." He's equipped and ready to identify , appraise and photograph your treasures. 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm - ACRYLIC PAINTING DEMONSTRATION - Ivan Rasmussen

Much of Ivan's adult life has been spend on the Bar Harbor waterfront, both as a gallery owner and a former harbormaster. He would love to show you his new paintings done for the show, "Birds of a Feather." Stop by this evening on your way to dinner and speak with him about his latest work in acrylic and watercolor. Nasruddin & Friends are Bunraku-Style and shadow puppets for everyone over the age of six. The Outrageous Wisdom of Nasruddin: The ancient Persian folk character tells stories based on wisdom tales from many cultures, fractured in a way only Nasruddin can manage. Elmer's Most Random of Adventures: Elmer not only accepts whatever befalls him, he is absolutely delighted. Abbe Museum collections manger, Julie Clark, will present a workshop on easy ways to better care for photograph collections.
